Last month we went on a FANTASTIC family trip to Cozumel, MX; an island in the Caribbean, 45 miles South of Cancun for an entire week. There were around 32 of us, 17 from the Hyland clan and the rest were long time family friends who are retired law enforcement officer’s with my father in law. Every once in a while, they all get together and have a wonderful vacation in various tropical places. This time we all came together to celebrate Will, a dear family friend’s birthday, and to spend valuable time together as a whole family.
I’ve never been to Cozumel before but have heard many great things about it. The last time CJ visited was when he was around 16 years old. So, he was anticipating this trip for a long time. I soon came to realize why!
Hot weather, unlimited drinks, great food, swimming, snorkeling, pool volleyball, beer, scuba diving, sunburns, scooter adventures, beer, operation: get-Candice-to-drink, dancing, tequila, shopping, tropical creatures, Xcaret, Mayan shows, Mexican candy, beer. In short, that pretty much sums up our chill vacation!
The following are photo collages. Hover over the picture or click on it to read a brief description.

I am so thankful to my in law’s for organizing this trip and bringing us all together. It especially means a lot to me when we have been living away from family for the past 10 years and see them off and on over a period of months. We treasure these moments and hold every memory close to our hearts. To our family reading: WE LOVE YOU!
